SMOKING PROHIBITED AT SENTOSA BEACHES
Smoking is now prohibited at Sentosa’s beaches
Your well-being is our top priority, so we must ensure Sentosa remains safe for all guests.
To protect our beach-goers from the harmful effects of second-hand tobacco smoke, please note that from 1 July 2022, smoking is prohibited at all three of our beaches - Tanjong Beach, Palawan Beach and Siloso Beach.
This is part of Singapore’s smoking prohibition, which has been extended to remaining public parks, gardens, ABC (Active, Beautiful, Clean) Waters sites and other recreational beaches.
Sentosa Development Corporation is authorised to issue verbal advisories and take enforcement actions for smoking offences at the beaches.
To provide more time with this adjustment, verbal warnings will be given to those caught smoking at our beaches in the first three months. Strict enforcement actions will only take effect from 1 October 2022, where individuals caught smoking will be liable to a composition sum of $200 or a fine of up to $1,000 if convicted in court.
Designated Smoking Areas (DSAs), posters and signages will also be set up within the vicinity of Sentosa’s beaches to help smokers adjust to this change.
While we wish everyone an enjoyable time at the beach, we encourage smokers to be socially responsible when smoking at DSAs, and not to light up on the beaches.
