|Class:||2 hour Hand Building Pottery Workshop|
[Updated on 27 Sep 2021] In view of the prevailing COVID-19 measures from 27 Sep to 24 Oct,
• Guests aged 12 and below will not be able to participate in this programme, as they are not vaccinated and are thus encouraged to stay at home.
• Guests aged 60 years and above are strongly encouraged not to participate in this programme. For their safety, seniors are advised to stay home as much as possible, except for essential activities.
1. Keep nails short - Long nails may get in the way and mess up your clay during hand-building.
2. Dress Comfy - Aprons will be provided. However, clay may still splatter and stain your clothes. Do wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty in.
3. Be Early / Punctual - Instructors will only commence the briefing and demo when everyone is present.
4. Collection of Pottery works - Your works will be ready for collection after approximately 6-8 weeks as they need to be fully dried, bisque- fired, glazed, glaze-fired, sorted and packed. We seek your kind patience and understanding during the wait. You will be contacted via Whatsapp/Text by ARUDIO when your pottery works are ready for collection. (Note: Appointment is required for collection)
5. Unforeseen circumstances - Ceramic is a challenging art form and clay firing is complicated and unpredictable. Cracks, chips, glaze colour change and transfers are very normal, even experienced potters are not spared! Fun fact: We do not glaze the bottom of the works to prevent the work from getting stuck in the kiln.
If there are cracks inside of your works, please do not use them for drinks/ food as it is not food safe anymore.
If there is a major defect in your work, we will inform you and redo one for you. Do note that the works will go through the same backend process again. Thus, collection of works will be further delayed.
