Island Guide

Plus, activities that will keep everyone in the family happily entertained.

A stay at the Capella is the 'treat yourself' mini-vacation we all deserve for powering through the Circuit Breaker months.

Drive into the hotel's 30 acres estate, and you are surrounded by lush greenery, cascading pools, sweeping views of the South China Sea, a beach at your doorstep and a property that exudes old-world grandeur and serenity.

Before you check-in, you will be reassured to know that Capella takes hygiene and safety very seriously, and have aligned their guest services and facilities to provide the best experience while maintaining all the necessary safety protocols. The full details can be read here

Do note that all guests must wear masks, check in and out via SafeEntry and have your temperature screened before entering the attractions and restaurants. There are plenty of signs and floor markers to guide you along. Find out more about our safe measurement measures here.

Rooms: Your luxury getaway home away from home

With 112 rooms on-site, the Capella is the ideal intimate stay. The rooms, however, are all suites and begin at a comfortably sized at 829 sqft for the Garden or Seaview rooms. All rooms come fitted with the finest; these include the most decadent Posturepedic mattresses, rain showers and bathtubs to soak in, Aesop bathroom toiletries and touch panels to control lighting, air conditioning and more. Splurge a bit more, and you can have a room with a private balcony, sunbeds and jacuzzis with a view of the sea.

All guests are entitled to free wireless internet, in-room refreshments, amenities upon arrival, and free parking on-site. All guests are welcome at the Capella Living Room (with prior reservation), which is a delightful lounge that serves light snacks and drinks and houses a wide variety of reading materials, board games and CDs/DVDs.

Things to do

All guests can access The Fitness Centre from 9am – 9pm, with prior registration at Auriga Spa.

Capella's iconic tiered swimming pools can be accessed by all guests. However, prior registration is needed to ensure safe distancing and adequate time to clean and sanitise in-between sessions.

Fitness enthusiasts can go for a scenic walk or run within the hotel’s lush grounds. A jogging route will be provided by the Front Desk team or the Capella Culturist (which is the team that helps plan all your staycation activities).

The award-winning Auriga Spa is a special treat with their signature treatments and relaxing massages, and guests can also book to use the spa’s facilities such as the Vitality Pool, Steam Room, Cold Mist and Tropical Rainshowers. All of these facilities are contactless and completely safe.

Special workshops and fun activities

The hotel has ensured that you need not leave the hotel's property to have an activity-packed, fun-filled stay. From kid-friendly workshops for art and craft and canvas painting to a delicious BYOB (build your own boba/bubble tea) activity, there is more than enough to do. We are particularly interested in the Heritage Art Tour which allows you to get familiar with many of the 900 commissioned art pieces dotted around the property, and learn the history behind the heritage bungalows built in the 1880s for British Officers.

There is also the craft cocktail workshop led by the expert mixologists of Bob's Bar, which will teach you to shake up cocktails in no time.

Food and Drink

You will not go hungry during your stay at Capella, and you need not leave the hotel premises even though the island itself boasts a multitude of dining options. At Capella, your visit includes breakfast for two at the Mediterranean-style sea-facing restaurant, The Knolls

Drinks and light bites can be had at Bob's Bar which boasts an excellent cocktail list, an exhaustive list of rare and artisanal rums, including the bespoke Navengate Rum produced in Barbados in collaboration with the Capella's Richard Seale.

Cassia serves modern Cantonese fare, a delightful afternoon tea and some of Singapore's best, most high-quality dim sum. There is also Chef's Table which is an exciting dining experience with a home-style kitchen setting. Plus, there is always in-room dining for those who want privacy.

If all of the above is not luxe enough for you, Capella offers up The Manor Experience for the truly discerning and lovers of luxury.

Book your family in for a stay at one of Capella's luxury villas. These are colonial bungalows built in the 1880s, with private lap pools, three en-suite bathrooms, separate living, dining and study areas and lush garden views.

The Manor Experience allows you a dedicated personal villa host, and tons of specials such as a complimentary bottle of wine, in-room poolside afternoon tea, in-manor private yoga session, complimentary kiddie activities, pool floats, a spa session for two at Auriga Spa and much much more.

It does not come cheap, at S$9,000 per night, per manor, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
