HOW TO SPEND A DAY ON SENTOSA LIKE ISLAND BOY

Off the beaten track is this hidden gem — Imbiah trail. There are many interesting structures along the trail that serve as perfect spots for some insta-worthy shots. Be on the lookout for the Tempinis Cascade, a “waterfall” named after the nearby Tempinis Trees.

Mount Imbiah welcomes those who wish to experience a different side of Sentosa. Away from the booming beaches and bright-light attractions, there are sights you can find along a trek on the Mount Imbiah Trail and nature walk.

A forested hill that’s only 80m high, Mount Imbiah is one of two protected nature areas on Sentosa. 2.3km in length, this network trail takes about 30 to 40 minutes to complete. Sentosa is home to over 80 different species of resident, and migratory birds so keep your eyes peeled for them during your walk. Otherwise, you can always have fun spotting the larger-than-life models of wildlife scattered along the trail.

Go exploring at Palawan Beach — cross over the rope bridge to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. Climb up one of the two towers, and marvel at the view of Sentosa, and the South China Sea. Palawan beach is Singapore's happiest family beach, which boasts interesting shops and eateries that are a favourite with adults and children alike.

For a slice of Hawaiian life, head to this vivacious hangout on Siloso Beach. “Ola” means “life, health and well-being” in the native tongue of this cherished culture, and fittingly, you’ll feel jolts of exhilaration when you swing by this watersport haven. From banana boating to paddle-boarding, and even jet-blading (the first of its kind in Singapore; until 6pm), there’s plenty here to perk up the sporty warrior in you.
