6 THINGS TO DO IN OCTOBER

Are you the spook-er or are you the spooked?

Where smiles become tears and screams of excitement turn into shrieks of fear, Sentosa Island has been plotting something spooky this month.

From the annual Halloween Horror Nights by Universal Studios Singapore to the unexpected twist of events happening at Megazip and KidZania, be prepared to scream your heads off, and perhaps sleep with one eye open.

Halloween Horror Nights 9

Universal Studios Singapore, the place where movies come to life but also turn your fears into reality with the return of Halloween Horror Nights 9. Let your curiosity lure you in by the unsolved mystery of the disappearance of five teenagers from the chalet, or witness the thriving village of life-sized dolls injected with the souls of the murdered folks. We welcome you to wander into the theme park if you dare risk losing your soul – there’s always room to expand our collection anyway.

Kursed

Our favourite hilltop adventure Mega Adventure Park transforms into a spooky kampong this month as it hosts Kursed, an interactive, outdoor escape room fit for Halloween. It is the brainchild of Cerebral Singapore, Mega Adventure Singapore, and actor, playwright and director Jonathan Lim. Be prepared to encounter the most terrifying figures of Malay ghostlore - the undead Pocong, the child-stealing Hantu Tetek, the disembodied Hantu Penanggalan, and of course, the big sister of our nightmares - the Pontianak herself! Scream as loud as you want or run as fast as you can, the only way out, is through.

Movies @ Fort Siloso

While some moviegoers can't sit through a film without popcorn, we can't enjoy one without the starry night sky above. The upcoming series of Sentosa’s free movie screenings (starts 7.45pm) will be elevated to new heights at Fort Siloso! Feel the change in altitude with a line-up of movies -- The House with a Clock in its Walls (18 Oct), MIB International (19 Oct), Happy Death Day (25 Oct) and Happy Death Day 2U (26 Oct) -- that will keep you entertained and movie bites to keep your guts satisfied.

KidZania Spookytown Carnival

Out of ideas for family bonding activities? Volunteer as a tribute to the mystery of The Lost Carnival, named after the dissipating presence of the townspeople after an experiment gone wrong. Held at KidZania Singapore, the commencement of this Halloween event will transform into an abandoned town, be-fitting of the intense mystery-thriller. If you can be anything this Halloween, be the hero of Spookytown by uncovering the truth and restoring the lives of the lost.
