It
was dark and drizzling
on 16 Sep morning,
but it didn’t dampen
the spirits of 7000
over participants.
2 distances were covered,
4km Fun Walk and 8km
Competitive Race,
all for a good cause.
Flagging off the event
was Health Minister
Khaw Boon Wan, who
also joined in the
run. Within 40 minutes
from the first flag
off, the 1st runner
of 8km Competitive
Run was spotted.
A total amount of
more than S$310, 000
was raised for cancer
research. We thank
you everyone for the
enthusiastic participation
and bringing hope
to cancer patients
and families. |

total of nine teams
from various clubs,
institutions and organisations
competed in this competition
with includes various
events like Beach
Flags, Beach Sprints,
Beach Relays, Board
Paddling, Board Race,
Surf Swim and Ironman.
And we’re pleased
to announce that,
Team Sentosa have
won a total of 8 Medals
(3 Golds, 1 Silver
and 4 Bronzes) in
this competition.

We are pleased to bring you The Dalian Childrens' Arts Troupe of China to showcase their musical talents, with various displays of the Chinese instruments.
The Dalian Childrens' Arts Troupe is a well established school that serves as a platform for young budding talents to hone and nurture their skills in various aspects such as Vocals, Music Instruments and Dance. These children started training from a very young age and have thus showed excellent results, clinching several awards in competitions held all over China. |

Sentosa National Optimist & Byte Championships 2007
19 to 23 June 2007 |

The overwhelming response to the Sentosa National Optimist & Byte Championships is testimony to the growing popularity of sailing in Singapore. The total number of participants who registered for the Optimist category was at a high 272. For the Byte countries such as Thailand, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, |
Belgium, Hong Kong, Japan and Philippines took part, adding to the numbers.
Fighting off the fierce competition, Luke Tan Yi Hao emerged champion of the regatta. Fourteen year old Rachel Lee Qing scored 15 points to emerge as the top female performer. In the Byte category, Herman Nurfendi Bin Ahmad (2nd in the 2007 Byte World Championship) held his ground since the first day of the competition, winning the championship with an untouchable lead of 10 points. Top female performance goes to Valerie Chia Ying Ying (Byte Female World Champion 2007) who finished seventh in the open category.
The Sentosa National Optimist & Byte Championships is organised by the Singapore Sailing Federation and sponsored by Sentosa.

Sentosa would like to congratulate champions Brazilians Talita Antuntes and Renata Ribeiro who captured the US$200,000 Singapore Open prize during the Grand Final on Siloso Beach. Coming in second was the team of Jie Wang and Jia Tian with the final score at 2-0 (21-15, 21-19) in 43 minutes. |
